Out of Edinburgh

I left Edinburgh with a whole load of stuff the other day to visit home before the wedding and leaving for the US. It was a little odd ‘cos I said bye to Jono, one of my best friends at Uni, and I might not see him again for a very long time (He’s going to Poland for the summer and might not be back until after I go down south). This has made me more determined to do better at keeping in touch with my Uni. friends once I leave Edinburgh and to make the most of it until I do.

Dundee has been good so far. I had a quiet day yesterday and we went out for a meal tonight with Gran and Granam. It was good foor and good to see them.

Fast Ticketing

Nick and I are both very happy. We’ve got newts and his thermal ticket printer working together properly, printing good quality tickets quickly and with minimal fuss.

Graduated

Well I had a good day.. I graduated, it’s sunny and I’m happy.

Graduation Tomorrow

This will be one of (if not THE) last post under the categry of Uni. ‘cos I’m graduating in 12 hours time.

It’s really odd that it’s about to be over. It’s another of those stages of life you think of at an early age… and the next ones are truly scary… career, family, death.

Oh well.

The last few days have been pretty uneventful, I’ve been doing lots of walking in the beautiful weather, some programming and some tidying. I’ve also caught up on a bunch of e-mail and spoken to IBM about the job I’m going into. It sounds like I’ll have a pretty happy start :-)

PostSecret

How many of these do you think are real?

I miss Alex

Celebrations

Well first.. I’ve been ill for the past few days but I’m feeling a lot better. (I’m very happy!)

Secondly.. I’ve been thinking a lot about celebrations. People keep on asking me if I’m celebrating (being finished, getting a good degree, having good exam results), and the real answer is that I’m not. A little reflection on why and I came up with the fact that I don’t want any celebration to be a dissapointment… or worse, unpleasant. So I’m looking towards my graduation on Wednesday and thinking I’ll end up having lunch with my parents, followed by an evening in. Sounds a little sad I know….

Paintballing…

Saturday was really good fun. We went paintballing which was really good fun, if a little sore when hit. We ended the day with a ‘Hunt the Stag’ game where Dave and Iain got pretty well splattered.

Later was a meal and a night out, which was really good fun. I haven’t been out for a night like that for ages… and it was fun seeing Iain getting bought many drinks and taking the small amount of abuse that we thought appropriate.

I haven’t done much since then.. a little on newts but not much. I’m waiting for Nick to be back before focussing on the final push to make it production ready.

Finally I’m very impressed by what Andrew has done for Bedlam fringe sponsorship. New, fun, and high profile.

The fringe is here…

OK, so the fringe isn’t actually here but its going to happen. How do I know this? I got a fringe programme. I was feeling ill so went for a walk, happened past the fringe box office, saw it was open and popped in.

I leave you with this from The Improverts blurb: “A great talent. I can’t wait to see them again” First Minister Jack McConnell.
